The Force is strong with at least one Star Wars film as it has wrapped filming. It has been five years since the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. While that normally wouldn’t be a long time to wait between Star Wars films, as fans waited 16 years between Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace, it is a long time considering that when Disney bought Lucasfilm back in 2012, their goal was to have a new Star Wars movie out every year. Four Star Wars films are now in active development, including a crossover film between various Disney+ series directed by Dave Filoni, James Mangold’s first Jedi movie, a film centered on Rey set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker, and The Mandalorian & Grogu.
