Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars won’t just see the MCU’s premiere team reunite on the big screen, they will also bring with them the MCU’s most successful directors, Joe and Anthony Russo. The directorial brothers made their Marvel Studios debut with Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014 — which is often regarded as one of the MCU’s best — and returned for Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Doomsday will be the Russo brothers’ fifth MCU movie. With the film now firmly in production, the brothers have explained why they decided to return for another Avengers-sized outing.
