Netflix Canceled This Completed Peyton List Movie

2023 was a dark year for the film industry. Beyond the writers’ and actors’ strikes, there was the continuation of the disturbing trend by studios and streamers to shelve or sell already completed projects, upsetting fans and all the creative talent behind those titles. The shelving of Batgirl was the first jaw-dropper back in 2022. In 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery added Coyote vs. Acme to that list, as did Netflix with the cancelation of The Inheritance and House/Wife, two completed films with a lot of promise. While it’s often said that Netflix has a habit of canceling TV shows with dedicated fan bases, they don’t often cancel completely filmed and produced titles, so the news was a bit shocking and discouraging. One year later, though, The Inheritance quietly made its debut elsewhere — on Hulu.
